Autism Redefined

The Neurodiversity people have been very successful at redefining the word Autism. The word now means "exceptional intelligence." If an autistic child suffers any deficit at all, it's a "comorbid" condition.

I am interested in better defining autism and defining what autism is NOT, so that we can establish a vocabulary that brings all the "camps" to a common framework.

Defining autism as simply, "exceptional intelligence" misses the mark, IMHO.

I blogged about this topic in April.
