These are the only option I can come up with. No human being with conscious can make those comments without being any of those I mentioned above.I pray for everyone in MB. May God help all those children and their parents...amenAasiyahhttp://myautisticmuslimchild.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33052404.post-36959436201472701402010-10-01T20:13:38.944-03:002010-10-01T20:13:38.944-03:00Anybody, doesn't matter where they live or who...Anybody, doesn't matter where they live or who they are, what nationality, color, religion, or creed, who begins any statement towards any group with the words 'You people...' INSTANTANEOUSLY defines themselves as a person to be viewed as very, very dangerous. And never, ever, to be trusted.

Especially if that person has any degree of power whatsoever, since it is 100% proof positive that the person has a closed mind, classifies people by group (is prejudicial) and feels unfavorably towards those groups, perhaps even with disdain or dislike, or worse, disinterest.

No one will ever convincingly be able to persuade me otherwise.blogzillyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08268388544631653375noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33052404.post-42936246481757562972010-10-01T12:18:49.628-03:002010-10-01T12:18:49.628-03:00I too am a parent of an autistic child. My daughter was with me that morning and I questioned Mr.Alward on his views regarding autism. He didn't know anything about the disorder. I would hope that Mr. Alward will meet with parents who have children/adults on the spectrum as well as form a committee of professionals from early intervention to the Stan Cassidy team that will advise him.
Inclusion is an amazing idea for children with special needs. I do agree with Mr. Doherty- not every child can be 100% integrated in the standard classroom. We need to remember, like typical children some students need accommodations. Whether they are autistic or not.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33052404.post-58719747441142798142010-10-01T08:39:10.024-03:002010-10-01T08:39:10.024-03:00That post you wrote those years ago was when I fir...That post you wrote those years ago was when I first discovered your blog...and sighed with relief that somewhere, out there, somebody was making sense about the many drawbacks of full inclusion for certain disabled children. Yude Henteleff, furthermore, is my personal hero and that piece you quote from is my bible (I also have an incredible bit from a Senate special committee report where Mr. Henteleff politely blasts full inclusion as the perfect way to save money, first and foremost). Thanks for putting it up again, and I hope beyond hope that the NB government knows to leave well enough alone at this point and not go back to the delusion of full-inclusion.Clairehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13070297384173508509noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33052404.post-71594197102302673912010-10-01T07:43:23.513-03:002010-10-01T07:43:23.513-03:00We know what Gordon Porter has said and done with ...We know what Gordon Porter has said and done with regards to autism, and it is simply outrageous!!
David Alwrd has made a mistake seeking this man's input, can't be much to choose from!
This autism mother knows, I was there with you and heard the words.
And to think this man is awasrded the Order of Canada....shameful.
We will be watching very closely.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
