And the photos are wonderful. May I put a link in my own blog (www.strangeson.com) to your blog entry?
Thank you for your heart-felt words.
Best wishes, -Portia Iversenportiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04660802853857708330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33052404.post-86509544627352234642007-07-20T02:08:00.000-03:002007-07-20T02:08:00.000-03:00Mr. Doherty - Those are some great pictures. I wish you and your son the best life has to offer.
Prior to being the parent of an autistic child, I had never even given the subject more than a moment's thought. I, like you, have since then gained tremendous focus on many of the issues surrounding autism. Though you and I have taken divergent paths, I think we are both operating under the guiding principle of helping our sons.
The greatest thing I can imagine, Harold, is if Conor and Jason someday found a means to communicate, perhaps via typing to each other via email, and spent a while complaining about what demanding, annoying SOB's their dads are.
We should be so lucky.
Best to you and your family.
SteveJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10831843534657098189noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33052404.post-27862602025297103422007-07-19T12:44:00.000-03:002007-07-19T12:44:00.000-03:00Man, can I relate to you. My son Jayden was diagnosed fairly early, and life has been nothing but interesting since.
We've been promised tons of things here in Ontario. None of which come true.
The pressure and stress on the family unit is terrific, and it is completely disheartening to see government take taxes, refuse to help people like your son and mine, and then in the end, use your taxes to fight cases in court against you when we sue for help.
Nice.
You have a wonderful blog and your son will benefit mostly from you and your kind heart!
Peace.James Benderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09759712228101061968noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33052404.post-91292099719172221322007-07-19T10:36:00.000-03:002007-07-19T10:36:00.000-03:00Horray!
